Santanyí Fair 2024: local products, exhibitions and activities for all ages

The Santanyí Town Hall has organised all the details for the celebration of Santanyí Fair 2024, which will take place on Saturday, 19 October. This main event will fill the town’s streets and squares with a wide variety of local products, exhibitions, and activities for all ages.

Highlights of Santanyí Fair 2024

As usual, the Fira will be an outdoor showcase featuring artisan stands, local associations, and displays of animals and vehicles. The day will begin at 10:00 am with a performance by the Santanyí Municipal Band, followed by a release of doves by the Santanyí Pigeon Club. Attendees will have the entire day to enjoy the Fira.

One of the most anticipated moments will be the correfoc by the group Espiadimonis de Felanitx, which will fill the streets with fire and pyrotechnics. This spectacle will begin at 10:30 pm with a children’s correfoc, followed by the grand correfoc starting at 11:00 pm, which will go from the Music School to the Placeta de la Porta Murada.

Santanyí’s mayor, Maria Pons, has invited everyone to enjoy the Fira: “This event is an essential part of our identity as a town, and every year it becomes an opportunity to showcase the best of Santanyí. We invite both locals and visitors to spend a great day with us, enjoying the traditions, music, and the lively atmosphere in our streets.”

The councillor for Fairs and Markets, Antoni Matas, explained everything visitors can expect throughout the day: “The Fira de Santanyí offers a wide range of activities for all tastes: from classic car and motorcycle exhibitions to displays of falconry birds and dog breeds. We will also have a gastronomic showcase with local products, which will undoubtedly be one of the main attractions. We want everyone to enjoy a day full of fun and culture.”

With a wide variety of activities throughout the day, the Fira de Santanyí promises to be a memorable event for families, culture lovers, and visitors from across the island.

Friday, 18 October

9:00 pm: Calle de Palma, near the Santanyí Music School. Inaugural event for the 2024/2025 academic year of the Santanyí Municipal Music School, with a concert by the Santanyí Municipal Band, directed by Pedro Vallbona Plazas, alongside the group DO NATURAL. The evening will be presented by Bàrbara Sagrera Antich.
8:00 pm to 11:00 pm: Roser Church. LA NIT DE LES ESGLÉSIES. From 8:00 pm, the Roser Church will be open to all visitors.

Saturday, 19 October

10:00 am: Placeta de la Porta Murada. Parade and opening of sa Fira 2024 by the Santanyí Municipal Band, with a release of doves by the Santanyí Pigeon Club.
10:00 am to 1:30 pm: Sant Andreu Church. Open day.
11:00 am: Parade with the Xeremiers del Término de Santanyí.
11:00 am: Sa Creu Children’s Park. Sheepdog demonstration with sheep, led by Miquel Adrover “des Cau”.
11:30 am: Animal area, Bernat Vidal and Tomás Street. Equestrian exhibition by the Amics del Cavall de Santanyí.
12:00 pm: Sant Andreu Church. PLENUM ORGANIS concert (free entry) featuring Bàrbara Duran (organ) and Maria Antònia Gomila (voice). Top hits from different eras, including “Vou veri vou”, “Lascia ch’io pianga”, and “Pie Jesu”. Organised by the Pastoral Unit of Santanyí Municipality.
7:00 pm: Placeta de s’Abeurador. Local cooking showcase by the Santanyí Housewife Association. Restaurants Alchemy, India, Ca Na Pou, and the Mestresses de Casa de Santanyí will offer traditional sweets. Performances by comedian Jaime Gili and entertainer, presenter, and DJ Manu Blanco.
10:30 pm: Porta Murada, children’s correfoc by the Espiadimonis de Felanitx group.
11:00 pm: From the Music School to the Placeta de la Porta Murada. Grand correfoc by the Espiadimonis de Felanitx group. Parade by the Batukada Espiatocats to accompany us to Firafest. Afterwards, at the Youth Centre, FIRAFEST 2024. Organised by the Festivals Department.

Sunday, 20 October

11:00 am: Plaza Mayor. R 5 GT turbo/R 11 turbo exhibition by the Club Gtturboilles Renault.
5:30 pm: s’Abeurador. Music and dance for youngsters with a performance by the group Spaguetti Punky. Families, come ready to dance! Organised by the Youth Department.
6:30 pm: s’Abeurador. Ball de bot performance by the Escoleta de Ball d’Ordí Broix.
