The Ciutat de Palma Awards 2025 already have their winners. The juries of the different categories announced their decisions on January 20, 2026, marking the outcome of one of the most important cultural calls in the calendar of Palma.

Due to the cancellation of the gala scheduled for Sant Sebastià, the awards will be presented at a later date during an institutional ceremony in the Plenary Hall of the Ajuntament de Palma, presided over by the mayor, Jaime Martínez Llabrés.

Each year, the Ciutat de Palma Awards recognise excellence in visual arts, literature, music, performing arts, audiovisual creation, journalism, gastronomy, research and architecture, consolidating their status as a cultural benchmark in Mallorca.

Antoni Gelabert Award for Visual Arts

  • Winner: Inma Femenía

  • Work: Free Fall CII 2018

The jury highlighted the contemporary use of imagery and the dialogue of the work with concepts such as gravity, time and space, as well as its reflection on the relationship between the material and the digital.

Special mention: Almudena Lobera, for Rest, recognising the conceptual solidity of the project and its reflection on silence.

Llorenç Villalonga Award for Novel in Catalan

  • Winner: Jaume Oliver Ripoll

  • Work: Un dia assaltarem la ciutat amb cavalls de ferro

The jury underlined the literary quality and structural originality of a novel that combines collective memory, personal identity and narrative play.

Camilo José Cela Award for Novel in Spanish

  • Result: No award

After a preliminary selection process with 50 finalist works, the jury decided to declare this category void.

Joan Alcover Award for Poetry in Catalan

  • Winner: Francesc Pastor Verdú

  • Work: In Paradisum

The jury described the collection as a work of great emotional force and human depth, capable of transforming everyday life into a deeply moving poetic experience.

Rubén Darío Award for Poetry in Spanish

  • Winner: Jorge Fernández Gonzalo

  • Work: Rotunda claridad

The work stands out for its solid construction and the use of powerful images that invite reflection. The jury also highlighted several finalist works for their high literary level.

Ciutat de Palma Comic Award

  • Winner: Pau Santiago Roda

  • Work: Casos pendents: Go Home

The jury valued the narrative fluidity, the rhythm of the story and the work’s ability to bring diversity to the Spanish comic scene.

Bonet de Sant Pere Award for Music

  • Winner: Mon Joan Tiquat

  • Album: Sinònims de cosa

A work recognised for its creativity, eclecticism and artistic coherence, offering a personal and well-crafted musical proposal.

Margaluz Award for Performing Arts

  • Winner: Daniel Cuesta Centelles

  • Work: Chocolate

The jury highlighted the depth of the dramatic text, the quality of the performance and its ability to evoke key moments in the social and cultural history of Palma and Mallorca.

Maria Forteza Award for Audiovisuals – Documentary

  • Winner: Jordi Nadal Rosselló

  • Documentary: L’últim vaquer de Hollywood

Recognised for its innovative narrative, solid script and meticulous editing that moves away from conventional formulas.

Maria Forteza Award for Audiovisuals – Short Film

  • Winner: Javier Chacártegui Horrach

  • Short film: Una persona normal

The jury valued the interpretative quality, the script and the emotional impact of the piece.

Miquel dels Sants Oliver Award for Journalism

  • Winner: Victòria Morell Salom

  • Work: NUDE (podcast broadcast on IB3 Ràdio)

The jury recognised its journalistic rigour and critical approach to a social phenomenon of major impact.

Special mention: Les Desaparicions, directed by Joan Cabot.

Caty Juan de Corral Award for Gastronomy

  • Winner: José Cortés García

  • Special mention: Toni Tugores Manresa (professional career)

The jury especially valued the use of local products, km 0 sourcing, designations of origin and the coherence between discourse and gastronomic practice.

Montserrat Casas Award for Research

  • Winner: Ignacio Martín Jiménez

  • Project: Mallorca at the beginning of the 20th century: behaviours around births, marriages and deaths

The jury highlighted the methodological solidity and the anthropological and sociological value of the work.

Guillem Sagrera Award for Architecture

  • Winning project: Casa de la Misericòrdia. Second phase of the comprehensive rehabilitation

The award recognises an intervention that combines tradition, craftsmanship and the recovery of Palma’s architectural heritage.

Ciutat de Palma Awards 2025: a reflection of the city’s cultural pulse

The 2025 edition of the Ciutat de Palma Awards confirms the high creative and cultural level of Mallorca, with strong participation and proposals spanning all artistic and knowledge disciplines.

These awards reinforce Palma’s role as a cultural capital of the Mediterranean and as a space for recognising contemporary talent.
