The Casa Blai Bonet in Santanyí kicks off its autumn 2024 programme with an exciting series of poetic and literary activities. This centre, which opened in June, has become a cultural landmark in Mallorca, and between October and December will host recitals, book clubs, performances, and conversations with authors. The aim is to invite the public to enjoy poetry at its finest.
Highlights of the autumn programme at Casa Blai Bonet
The schedule of activities begins on 2nd October and will end on 21st December. Some of the key events include:
- 18th October, 8pm – ‘Sal als ulls’
A recital by Anna Ferrer and Clara Fiol at the Santanyí Theatre. A poetic journey through the verses of Sappho, Emily Dickinson, and contemporary poets such as Maria Mercè Marçal and Laia MaLo. - 14th November, 8:30pm – ‘A mamar tots els versos!’
A musical recital by Sandra Monfort in honour of the centenary of Vicent Andrés Estellés. A vibrant tribute where the Valencian poet’s words merge with contemporary melodies. - 21st December, 12pm – Inauguration of ‘Tonina2’
Closing the cycle with the inauguration of a mural by Tonina Matamalas dedicated to the poet Tonina Canyelles. This event will include a poetic and musical vermouth.
Book clubs and poetic gatherings
Casa Blai Bonet will also offer book clubs and commented recitals in its Poeteca Club series. Some of the most anticipated sessions include:
- 2nd October, 7pm: Joan Antoni Cerrato will talk about the poet Emily Dickinson in De Dickinsonianes a Emily Dickinson.
- 30th October, 7pm: Tonina Canyelles will present Bistecs de Pantera in a special book club session.
- 23rd November, 7pm: A meeting with Russian poet Vera Pavlova in conversation with Xènia Dyakanova.
Special events: Centenary of Vicent Andrés Estellés
On 14th and 15th November, special sessions will be held in honour of Vicent Andrés Estellés. Under the title Un amor tan gran, this event is organised in collaboration with cultural institutions from the Balearic Islands and Catalonia.
Visiting Casa Blai Bonet in Santanyí
The centre is regularly open on Wednesdays from 10am to 6pm and on Thursdays and Fridays from 10am to 2pm. Additionally, for events such as Canal’Art on 11th October, the centre will extend its opening hours from 6pm to 11pm.
