The University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) has declared today as a non-teaching day to prevent students from travelling to the campus
The storm Juliette has also caused major incidents at the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB) in Palma. Part of the roof collapsed in the Anselm Turmeda building. Despite the incident, no injuries were reported.
The UIB has decided to declare Tuesday as a non-teaching day: “The storm is causing numerous road closures and the interruption of the electricity supply in some parts of Mallorca. This could prevent the correct functioning of online classes for part of the student body,” explained the university in a tweet.
It has also recommended staff to avoid travelling on campus by road and has called for teleworking and online classes.
