The Palma International Boat Show kicks off strongly in its 2025 edition, surpassing the 300 exhibitor mark for the first time thanks to the incorporation of a new exhibition area at the Club de Mar in Palma. A total of 304 participating companies will showcase the latest innovations in boats, equipment and nautical services from 30 April to 3 May.

The main novelty this year is the creation of the Superyacht New Build Hub, an exclusive space dedicated to large sailing yachts built to order by shipyards specialising in unique, custom-made models. This new area will feature around ten sailing yachts of over 40 metres in length and eleven land-based exhibitors, including shipyards, engineering firms, refit and repair services, and naval design companies.

The fair is organised by the Agència de Desenvolupament Regional de les Illes Balears (ADRBalears), part of the Ministry of Business, Employment and Energy, together with the Balearic Yacht Brokers Association (BYBA). This morning, Minister Alejandro Sáenz de San Pedro presented the new edition of the event at the El Moll Vell venue, accompanied by representatives from the nautical and port sector, such as the president of the Balearic Port Authority, Javier Sanz; the director general of Industry and Industrial Estates, Alfons Gómez; and the president of the Balearic Marine Cluster, Guillermo García, among others.

Sáenz de San Pedro highlighted that this expansion “will turn the fair into a global benchmark, as it will feature the world’s largest exhibition of large sailing yachts.” He also noted that the initiative responds to “a historic demand from the industry” and will create new business opportunities for the Balearic nautical sector.

Two locations connected by sea

The Palma International Boat Show 2025 will take place in two venues connected by sea via shuttle boats, allowing visitors to travel from one area to the other in just five minutes. Both El Moll Vell and the Club de Mar can be accessed with a single entry ticket, making the experience more convenient and attractive for attendees.

In addition to the new superyacht-focused zone, the fair will maintain its traditional space at El Moll Vell, which will once again be a showcase for global boat and product launches. Around 250 boats are expected to be displayed in the water, with additional exhibits on land, bringing the total to approximately 600 vessels.

The event will also include a new edition of the Palma Superyacht Village, a section focused on yachts over 24 metres available for sale or charter, organised by BYBA. Added to this is the Balearic Superyacht Forum, which will hold its second edition on 29 and 30 April and is expected to gather around 300 professionals and experts from the sector to discuss the future of large-yacht navigation.

Strategic sector

Yachting is a strategic sector for the Balearic economy. According to the Balearic Marine Cluster, the region currently has 879 companies dedicated exclusively to recreational boating, generating annual revenues of €1.106 billion and employing over 5,100 people. The previous edition of the Palma International Boat Show had an economic impact of €20.1 million, boosting off-season tourism and contributing to the region’s year-round appeal.
