Palma Dansa 2025 is heating up. The contemporary dance festival will take place from April 26 to May 5, with a programme that focuses on quality, diverse proposals, and a wide range of venues, both conventional and unique.

Directed by Mar Aguiló, a dancer with a distinguished international career —including 15 years with the Compañía Nacional de Danza under the direction of figures such as Nacho Duato and William Forsythe— the festival once again makes Palma a point of reference for dance.
Dance for all audiences
The opening will take place on Saturday, April 26 at Sa Llotja with the performance of L’amor x Sa Llotja, a show that combines contemporary dance and flamenco, led by Alice Godfrey and directed by Eduardo Rivero. On the same day, Plaça Major will host Palma Balla, a major showcase of local dance schools to celebrate International Dance Day.
Among the most anticipated activities is the closing gala at Castell de Bellver on May 4, with the performance of Degunino, starring Maria Kochetkova and choreographed by Marcos Morau, one of the most recognised Spanish choreographers in the international scene.
The festival will also feature masterclasses, discussions, screenings, and other formats designed to bring dance to all types of audiences.

It will exceed expectations
During the presentation, the first deputy mayor and councillor for Culture, Javier Bonet, emphasised that Palma Dansa “is the result of the effort and cooperation of various institutions and venues” and that it represents “one of the festival’s key features: placing performances in plural and not necessarily conventional venues”.

Bonet also stated that this year’s programme “will exceed the expectations of previous editions, both in social and cultural impact as well as audience attendance,” and he praised the artistic direction of Mar Aguiló, “an internationally renowned figure who brings both rigour and sensitivity to the project”.
The event also strengthens Palma’s bid to become European Capital of Culture 2031, a strategic goal for the city.
