The world of dance is getting ready to welcome the seventeenth edition of the Palma Dansa 2024 Festival. From the 24th of April to the 4th of May, Palma will become the epicentre of artistic expression and movement. Directed by the outstanding choreographer Mar Aguiló, this event promises to bring together diverse audiences with a diverse programme.
Palma Dansa 2024 Programme
- 24th April, Teatre Municipal Xesc Forteza, 19:00: Opening of Palma Dansa 2024. The inauguration will feature an impressive performance by dancers Simon Leborgne, Ulysse Zang and Héloïse Jocqueviel, with careers in the Paris Opera Ballet and other prestigious European companies.
- 27th April, Teatre Principal de Palma, 20:30: Noche Flamenco-Experimental (Flamenco-Experimental Night). With the innovative show by Israel Galván, winner of the National Dance Prize, and El Niño de Elche, a renovator of flamenco.
- 30 April, Outside the Teatre Municipal Xesc Forteza, 18:00: Danza vertical en las alturas. Ploma Vertical presents a unique vertical dance experience in the surroundings of the Teatre Municipal Xesc Forteza, fusing art and the urban environment.
- 1 May, Fundación Miró Mallorca, 17:00: Pieza Site Specific de Elamor. An interactive experience together with the Fundación Miró Mallorca with Elamor’s dance production, a unique opportunity to experience dance in a special artistic context.
- 3 May, Plaça Major, 10:00: Master Class with Joaquín de Luz. One of the great masters of contemporary dance will offer this master class open to the public in the Plaça Major.
- 4th May, Teatre Municipal Xesc Forteza, 20:00. Latest creation by Antonio Ruz. The latest work by choreographer Antonio Ruz, winner of the National Dance Prize, in a presentation that promises innovation and creativity.
Palma Balla, in Plaça Major
From the 1st to the 3rd of May, Plaça Major will be the stage where future dance talents will demonstrate their skills in the participatory event Palma Balla. Students from the Conservatori Professional de Dansa de les Illes Balears (Professional Dance Conservatory of the Balearic Islands) and several dance schools will offer performances full of energy and passion.
