Next Friday, August 23, Felanitx will become the epicenter of art with the celebration of the highly anticipated Nitx de l’Art Felanitx 2024. This edition promises to be one of the most outstanding, showcasing the work of over 200 artists displayed in 62 exhibition spaces throughout the town. The event will begin at 8:00 PM and will offer a night full of creativity, culture, and artistic discoveries.
One of the major new features in 2024 is the addition of an alternative route that will tour seven emblematic locations of Felanitx’s industrial fabric. This proposal aims to highlight both the past and present of the local industry, adding a new dimension to the artistic experience of Nitx de l’Art Felanitx 2024. This initiative offers visitors the opportunity to explore the town’s industrial heritage, emphasizing its historical significance and future potential.
Gate Small: An exceptional work in a unique setting
Another main attraction of Nitx de l’Art Felanitx 2024 is the exhibition of the piece “Gate Small” by renowned South Korean artist Do-Ho Suh. This silk work will be displayed in the chapel of San Nicolás at the Convent of San Agustín, creating a unique dialogue between contemporary art and the baroque heritage of the site. The inauguration of this piece will take place on Thursday, August 22, at 8:00 PM, and it will be available for viewing until Sunday, August 25, from 7:00 PM to 11:00 PM.
A well-established event with new proposals
Nitx de l’Art Felanitx 2024 not only maintains its essence but also introduces innovations that aim to enrich the experience for attendees. In addition to the traditional exhibition spaces, this year new venues have joined in, opening their doors to showcase the talents of participating artists.
The mayor of Felanitx, Catalina Soler, emphasized the importance of this edition, recalling that it was a personal challenge to resume the organization of the event, an initiative she first launched twenty years ago. Soler also highlighted the significant participation achieved this year, reflecting the cultural strength and pride of the Felanitx community.
