Natassja Kinski will be one of the stars of the opening gala of the Evolution Mallorca International Film Festival today. The actress will receive the Mallorca Film Award during the gala, after appearing before the media on Tuesday at the film festival’s headquarters, the Portitxol Hotel. During her visit to Mallorca, she also had time to meet the Consell de Mallorca, which, through the Mallorca Film Commission, presents this first Mallorca Film Award.
The star of films such as “Tess” and “Paris, Texas” “is an actress with a great international career that we in Mallorca want to recognise, and she is the first to whom we will give this new award, the Mallorca Film Commission’s Mallorca Film Prize,” said President Cladera. The Councillor of Transition, Tourism and Sports, Andreu Serra, commented that “from the administrations we want to be part of the festivals and contribute to this powerful industry on the island of Mallorca”.
The 61-year-old German actress has worked throughout her career in more than sixty films, some with such acclaimed directors as Wim Wenders, Roman Polanski, Francis Ford Coppola and David Lynch. Her performance in the film “Tess” won her the Golden Globe for best newcomer actress.
