Mallorca PID: an integrated tourism management project

The grant will fund the development of the Smart Destination Platform (PID), a comprehensive technological system designed to gather and analyse all available tourism information at the Consell de Mallorca. This initiative aims to enhance the island’s tourism management and planning through data integration from multiple sources.

The project, known as Mallorca PID, has a total budget of €5.06 million, with 96% covered by the awarded funding.

Project objectives

The deployment of this platform is expected to achieve significant progress in several key areas:

  • Mobility and transport: optimising parking management and improving the island’s transport system.
  • Tourist experience: personalising services through the creation of digital travel planners.
  • Tourist information: more effective dissemination and access to relevant tourism data.
  • Environmental management: developing tools to optimise solid waste and water management.
  • Tourism monitoring: analysing visitor flows and assessing the impact of tourism events.

The project also includes regulation and oversight of tourist accommodations and holiday rentals, as well as strengthening digital interactions between public administrations, residents, and visitors.
