Mallorca es global

Mallorcan talent, product and heritage, on route around the planet

Arturo Ramos, La Habana, Cuba

The daily adventure of living in Cuba, by Arturo Ramos.

Sixty hours without electricity, that is to say, without internet, electricity, kitchen, and with the fridge defrosting; without being able to have breakfast, lunch, or dinner at home; without water—the spare motor is not enough to carry the water up the 22 floors of the building—and therefore washing in the cat’s way. Three days going up and down stairs in one of the many blackouts suffered by our building, Vedado, Havana, and all of Cuba, although this one has broken all records.

Patience is the word I hear and repeat the most. And the Cuban people can boast of it, blessed patience. Like the patience of Mallorcan businessmen like Disset Comunicación, with whom I collaborate. Because with all these inconveniences, a large colony of Spaniards and Mallorcans in Cuba resists the daily vicissitudes to which, little by little, you get used to. It may be the excellent rum, its cigars, its rhythm of life, and above all, its magnificent people. Living in Cuba is a daily adventure, not for the squeamish.

Mallorca Condos California nombres de calles

A piece of the island in California

In Southern California, on the shores of Mission Viejo Lake, lies a picturesque development known as Mallorca Condos. This exclusive residential complex, comprising 163 luxury flats, a swimming pool, spa, private beach, and privileged views of Mission Viejo Lake, stands out not only for its Mediterranean design but also for its unique homage to the island’s villages. Its streets are named after localities such as ‘Arta,’ ‘Pollensa,’ ‘Manacor,’ or ‘Valdemosa.’ A real stroll through Mallorca.

Fiesta Nacional de la Ensaimada, San Pedro, Argentina. Agrupación Mallorca San Pedro

Ensaimadas with an Argentinian accent

Every year, the Agrupación Mallorca San Pedro in Argentina, founded in 1965, celebrates the National Ensaimada Festival. In October, the 21st edition took place, bringing together residents and descendants of Mallorcans to share typical dishes of the island in an event filled with music, dances, and cultural activities that evoke the spirit of Mallorca in Buenos Aires. From Bunyola to China by van

Carme Bonnín and Marc Galmés set off from Bunyola in June 2023 with the aim of reaching China by van. On April 15, they achieved their dream. Their ‘Sumant km’ project took them 40,000 km and through 15 countries, including Greece, Turkey, Georgia, Japan, Russia, and Uzbekistan, over 400 days. They returned home in September after a journey worthy of Marco Polo.
