RCD Mallorca will continue in the Spanish football top category for another year after last night’s 2-0 victory over CA Osasuna. Ángel Rodríguez and Grenier were the scorers in the second half of an evenly matched and not for the faint-hearted.
A thousand Mallorca supporters followed their team in the last and transcendental match played at the El Sadar stadium in Pamplona. All the members of the squad and the fans who travelled to the capital of Navarra were able to enjoy a memorable night.
The victory of the pupils of the Basque Aguirre, who confirmed his continuity as coach of Mallorca at the end of the match, was also celebrated with fervor in the Plaza de las Tortugas in Palma and in many other corners of the island.
The permanence of the team one more season in the First Division is an important economic injection for the club and the rest of the Majorcan society, in a year that coincides with the long-awaited remodeling works of the Visit Mallorca Estadi, started just a week ago.
