With 97% and 84% respectively, Mallorca and Menorca are leading the way in terms of holiday home bookings in coastal areas for August, according to a study by Rentalia
These data provided by the Rentalia platform refer to the end of May. It states that 74% of holiday homes located less than 15 kilometres from a beach are already booked for the month of August. For the same dates last year, the forecast for August 2022 was 80%.
For its part, Lanzarote, with 85%, is another of the destinations that leads in bookings for the month of August at the end of May.
Hotel bookings grew by 10.6% in the Balearic Islands in the last week
On the other hand, hotel bookings have grown by 10.6% in the Balearic Islands in the last week, according to TravelgateX. From 29 May to 5 June, hotel bookings on the islands were 0.7% below last year’s figures at the same time.
Likewise, compared to the same period in 2021, this year hotel bookings in the archipelago have increased by 48.92%.
The Balearic Islands accumulated 15.4% of bookings in Spain and is the third most booked region in the last week behind Catalonia and Andalusia.
In Spain as a whole, 46.79% of bookings are for stays of two to five nights and 46.2% correspond to travellers in couples. 15.38% are made more than three months in advance. The domestic market is the main market, with 65.54% of bookings, followed by the United Kingdom, with 12.3% and Germany, with 2.75%.
