From October 3 to 7, Palma will become the epicenter of documentary cinema with the fifth edition of MajorDocs 2024. This unique festival, held at the iconic s’Escorxador and its new venue, the Estudi General Lul·lià, continues to establish itself as an international benchmark. With its slow approach, it invites the public to enjoy films with time, reflection, and depth.

Editing as Writing: Central Theme of the Professional Sessions
This year, MajorDocs PRO, the festival’s professional sessions, will focus on “Editing as Writing,” with prominent experts like editor Sylvie Gadmer offering talks and discussions.
MajorDocs stands out as the first slow documentary film festival in Mallorca, offering a more reflective and measured experience where the audience can engage in direct dialogue with the filmmakers. The program also includes MajorDocs EDUCA, designed to introduce students to cinema as art and culture. The event is a project of Mosaic and El Obrador, supported by the Consell de Mallorca, ICAA, and sponsored by INNSiDE Palma Center and Fundación Mallorca Turisme.
This festival not only positions Mallorca as a film set but also as a place where cinema becomes a platform for debate and reflection. MajorDocs 2024 will undoubtedly be an unmissable event for documentary film lovers.
