Palma City Council has announced that the works for the improvement of the Parc de la Mar have been awarded for an amount of 844,403 euros to the construction company Melchor Mascaró and will begin in July, during the high tourist season.

The project will take eight months to complete

The project will be developed in two phases and the execution plan is eight months.  Initially, the works are eligible to be financed by the Sustainable Tourism Tax of the Balearic Government (ITS).

The reform includes the renovation of 4,482 square meters of pavement, 240 lineal meters of railing and 73 meters of the sidewalk that borders the lake. Also, the marés will be replaced by prefabricated tiles, 41 new streetlights will be installed and the space will be illuminated with LED technology.
