Conferences and workshops

On 26th September, the Fundación Juan March will open the season with a new session of Arts and Crafts, featuring a lecture on the tradition of fan-making in Mallorca by artisans Pep Toni Ferrer and Magdalena Vidal of Paumes i Brins. This event will kick off a series of activities focused on preserving traditional artistic techniques and practices.

From 27th September to 3rd October, as part of the centenary of the painter Fernando Zóbel, the series Three Encounters around Zóbel will be held. Through two conferences and a workshop, the artist’s work and his connection to the landscape will be explored. Speakers will include the artist Christian García Bello and the collector Lalo Azcona, who will share their insights on Zóbel’s legacy.

The Creativos interview series, moderated by the publicist Toni Segarra, begins on 30th September with the participation of the director and programmer Elena López Riera, who will discuss her career and her Goya Award nomination.

Film Series: Pre-Code Hollywood

On 10th October, the film series will begin with Lead Couples in Pre-Code Hollywood, exploring the moral evolution of cinema before the onset of censorship in Hollywood. Over the course of eight films, attendees will see how on-screen couples reflected the social changes of the time, particularly following the Crash of ’29.

Exhibition of Jordi Teixidor

On 29th October, the exhibition Jordi Teixidor: The Role of Painting opens, a retrospective dedicated to the artist’s works on paper. Featuring over 200 pieces created between 1966 and 2022, this show is the first major review of his work on paper. The exhibition will run until 25th January 2025.

Family Art Workshops

The Family Art workshops return with two sessions on 30th November and 25th January, led by Natxa Pomar. These workshops will invite participants to explore abstract painting through photography and collage, in a setting inspired by the work of Jordi Teixidor.
