Javier Sanz, the current president of the Royal Spanish Sailing Federation, will be appointed this Friday president of the Port Authority in the Balearic Islands. This has been advanced by Gaceta Náutica, from where they say that the Government will announce the appointment this Friday after the Consell de Govern, as the proposal must be ratified by Puertos del Estado. Sanz would replace Jaume Colom.
José Javier Sanz Fernández (1949) is from Madrid, an economist by profession and holds an MBA in Business Management. He has spent 40 years of his professional career in various positions of high responsibility in several companies. Before his current position as president of the RFEV – during which he gave an interview to Mallorca Global Mag -, he was economic vice-president of the RFEV from 2015 to 2019, as well as president of the Real Club Náutico de Palma between 2012 and 2020 and president of the Organising Committee of the Copa del Rey Mapfre from 2006 to 2020.
