The Consell will open the five ITV stations in Mallorca every Saturday in April and May this year. This will enable 6,000 new appointments to inspect vehicles in the island. The Consell de Mallorca aims to avoid increasing the waiting lists.
The five Vehicle Technical Inspection (ITV) stations in Mallorca – Palma I (Son Castelló industrial estate), Palma II (So n’Oms industrial estate), Manacor, Inca and the mobile station in Calvià – will therefore open on Saturdays 20 and 27 April, while in May they will be open on 6, 11, 18 and 25. The possibility of requesting an appointment will open on the Monday before each of the Saturdays mentioned. The system has already been set up so that users can make an appointment for next Saturday (20 April).
This extension of the ITV calendar has been possible thanks to the agreement reached with the concessionary company and with the workers who wanted to work on weekends. The Consell de Mallorca also hopes to be able to offer ITV services on more week ends in the coming months.
New ITV station in Calvià
In the coming months, the new ITV station in Calvià, located in Son Bugadelles, is expected to become operational. Its opening will double the number of inspections carried out each month from 4,000 to 8,000. The construction works for the new ITV in Calvià have already been completed, and the provision of the necessary services and machinery is currently being finalised. The total investment in this project has amounted to 1.9 million euros.
