The journey begins in Lijiang, where Naxi traditions, its canals and the Black Dragon Pool offer a first encounter with Yunnan’s cultural richness. It continues with local gastronomic experiences -including mushroom dishes and jasmine tea- and with visits to Dali, its ancient Three Pagodas and the Bai villages. In Weishan, the ascent of the Taoist mountain Weibaoshan offers a spiritual climb among centuries-old temples; and in Shaxi, a former stop on the Tea and Horse Caravan Route, travellers explore the historic square and the Buddhist carvings of Shibaoshan.
The itinerary then moves on to Shangri-La, an evocation of the Shamballa myth, with the Old Town of Dukezong, the Songzanlin Monastery and the spectacular Tiger Leaping Gorge. The journey reaches its height in Tibet, centred on Lhasa, where travellers visit the Potala Palace, the Jokhang Temple and the Drepung and Sera monasteries, before moving to Samye, Tsedang and sacred landscapes such as Lake Yamdrok and the Karo-La glaciers.
