The sixth edition of the Hospitality and Tourism Professional Fair, Horeca Baleares, brings together over 120 stands and takes place from February 6th to 8th at the Velodrome Illes Balears. It is a reference among hospitality and restaurant professionals. The 2020 edition had over 12.000 accredited professionals and this year similar figures are expected
Horeca Baleares 2023 has sustainable tourism and the circular economy as guiding principles, and seeks to be a new opportunity to show the strength of local agri-food products and create alliances. All of this in the year that the minimum percentage of local products that hotel establishments must offer under the Tourism Law comes into force. At its opening, the president of the Balearic Government, Francina Armengol, ensured that “we have a restaurant and hospitality sector of excellence at a national and international level.”
In addition, the fair involves a hundred students and about 20 teachers from the Professional Training cycles of Cooking and Gastronomy, Restaurant Services, Bakery, Pastry and Confectionery and the Bakery and Briochería specialization course from IES Calvià, CIFP Juníper Serra (Palma), IES Guillem Colom Casasnoves (Sóller), IES Puig de sa Font (Son Servera), IES Alcúdia, and IES Josep Sureda i Blanes (Palma).
Horeca Menorca and Horeca Ibiza
Another novelty this year is the participation in the first edition of Horeca Menorca, which will take place on March 22, 23, and 24, by the IES Maria Àngels Cardona (Ciutadella), with students and teachers of Hospitality and Tourism. As for Ibiza, the professional training centers that will participate in this edition of Horeca Ibiza, which will take place on March 8, 9, and 10, are the IES Balàfia (Sant Llorenç de Balàfia), IES Sa Serra (Sant Antoni de Portmany), and IES Isidor Macabich (Ibiza).
