The Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy at the UIB will be a reality in the next academic year 2024-2025. As reported by the Government, the Council of Universities, a body under the Ministry of Science, Innovation and Universities, has issued, at the last meeting of the Commission for Verification and Accreditation of Curricula, resolution of positive verification of the degree of Bachelor of Pharmacy of the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB). This procedure represents the final verification of this degree, after the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) had also issued a favourable report a few weeks ago in the process of verification of this degree.
Thus, the degree of Pharmacy of the UIB will start this 2024. Before this, the Consell de Govern will give the go-ahead for the teaching of this degree and it will be registered in the Registry of Universities, Centres and Degrees (RUCT) of the Ministry. This Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy will be offered on the UIB’s Palma campus. It is a 300-credit degree. These will be divided into five courses of 60 ECTS credits each. The UIB will offer 35 places for new students to take these courses from the next academic year onwards.
New Degree in Pharmacy at the UIB
The aim of this educational programme is to train professionals capable of working in various areas of high labour demand. These include community pharmacies, hospital pharmacies, the pharmaceutical industry, analysis laboratories, health management, etc. In addition to education and research activities, according to the University of the Balearic Islands.
The inclusion of the Pharmacy degree in Mallorca is one of the main new features of the UIB’s bachelor’s degree programme for the 2024-2025 academic year. This new university degree will also be added to the Physical Activity and Sports Sciences degree.
