The Government has launched the first comprehensive upgrade of the Palma Intermodal Station since 2007. The investment amounts to €3.6 million, and the works will be carried out throughout 2026. The key measures include new escalators, refurbished toilets, updated signage and a new customer service office.

The refurbishment aims to modernise the facilities in order to create a more comfortable and safer space for users, focusing on three main areas: air conditioning, user information and the creation of new spaces. These measures, implemented through the Consorci de Transports de Mallorca (CTM) and Serveis Ferroviaris de Mallorca (SFM), will transform the Intermodal Station into a more modern, accessible and safer space, according to Government sources. It should be noted that the station has seen a significant increase in users, both residents and visitors, almost tripling its numbers in six years, from 5.8 million in 2019 to the 16.5 million expected by the end of 2025.
The project forms part of the Government’s infrastructure plan and is funded through the island factor and Next Generation EU funds. With these improvements, the aim is to guarantee a station that is fully accessible for people with reduced mobility and other groups, such as people with visual impairments.
