The Local Product Vouchers 2025 campaign is now underway. This initiative, the first of its kind, aims to promote the consumption of local and proximity products and to directly support the primary sector of the Balearic Islands. The action, driven by the Directorate General of Agri-food Quality and Local Product, is carried out in collaboration with the Chamber of Commerce of Mallorca and forms part of the measures designed to offset the impact of United States tariffs on Balearic exports. The objective is to strengthen the domestic consumption of local products to prevent the primary sector from depending on foreign markets.
Local Product Vouchers in Mallorca 2025
These local product vouchers allow consumers to benefit from a €10 discount for every €20 spent, with a maximum of €60 per person. The campaign has funding of €363,700 and will run until 28 November. In the first few hours alone, nearly a thousand vouchers had already been redeemed.
The vouchers can be redeemed at any of the participating establishments, provided that vouchers are still available. Consumers do not need to make any prior registration or application; they simply need to present their ID card, NIE or passport at the time of purchase.
In total, the campaign includes 100 registered establishments, of which 51 are farms, cooperatives or agricultural transformation societies, and 36 correspond to food industries. By island, there are 75 producers from Mallorca, 7 from Menorca and 5 from Eivissa.
The products available cover a wide range: fruit and vegetables (26), meat and sausages (22), cheese and dairy products (19), wine (53), oil and olives (23), honey (20), jams and preserves (21), nuts (12), bread and flour (8), spirits (14), and other local products (23).
All participating establishments can be consulted on the website:

“Local products are synonymous with quality, sustainability and territory”

The conseller (Minister) of Agriculture, Fisheries and Natural Environment, Joan Simonet, highlighted that this measure is “an invitation to all citizens to fill their cupboards with local products; every purchase is a direct way to support our farmers, livestock breeders and producers.” “Local products are synonymous with quality, sustainability and territory; consuming them means betting on the future of our countryside and our economy,” he added at the launch event held at the Cooperativa Pagesa de Pollença.
Meanwhile, the Director General of Agri-food Quality and Local Product, Joan Llabrés, emphasised that “we have received a very positive response from the production sector. There is a clear willingness and need to connect directly with consumers, and with this initiative we aim to respond to the sector’s demand to increase awareness and marketing of local products.”
From the Chamber of Commerce, the Chair of the Commission, Joana Manresa, stressed that “we should not allow ourselves to import from elsewhere what we already produce here, and of excellent quality.” She therefore encouraged the public to take part in this campaign, to buy and discover local products – a choice that represents “quality, flavour and sustainability.”
