The new exhibition season at CaixaForum Palma promises to take the public on a first-class artistic journey over the next few months. Under the slogan ‘Creixem en la cultura’ (Let’s grow in culture), the cultural centre offers an ambitious programme that includes three outstanding exhibitions. From portraiture in the 19th century to the history of comics, culminating with a look at modernity through two masters of painting. The journey to the centre of culture kicks off at CaixaForum Palma.

The first exhibition, ‘XIX. The century of the portrait. Collections from the Prado Museum. From the Enlightenment to modernity’, examines the evolution of the public image in the 19th century, using masterpieces by artists such as Goya, Federico de Madrazo and Joaquín Sorolla. The vindication of comics as a powerful tool for reflection and the creation of parallel realities is the backbone of CaixaForum Palma’s second proposal for 2025. This is ‘Comic. Dreams and history’, which praises the work of great masters of comics, as well as national figures who have left their mark on the world of sequential art. Focusing on the intersection between art and society. The exhibition invites visitors to consider comics not only as entertainment, but also as a critical mirror of reality.

A journey through the art, life and friendship of two of the most important and representative painters of modernism will be on display in ‘Zuloaga and Anglada-Camarasa: two visions of modernism’. In collaboration with the Zuloaga Foundation, this exhibition will review the life and friendship of these two figures through their correspondences and meetings. Visitors will be able to appreciate how their artistic visions intertwined in a creative dialogue that has left a profound mark on the history of art.
