The Firó de Sóller, the big festival of the picturesque village in the Serra de Tramuntana, returns once again this year to the delight of residents and visitors alike. This famous local festivity, which is held on the second Monday in May, commemorates the victory of the Sollerics over the Saracen corsairs after an attack by them on 11th May 1561.
The activities surrounding the Firó de Sóller 2024 kicked off on the 1st of May with a storytelling event (Un llegenda amb caparrots!) and continued over the weekend with a series of conferences, a giant’s ball, a dance exhibition, the Cursa Vall de Sóller and games for the little ones, among others.
