The weekend of 19 and 20 October will mark the start of the traditional Fires d’Inca 2024, an event that each year turns the capital of Raiguer into a focal point of autumn in Mallorca. For three weeks, Inca will be filled with activities and events that will attract both locals and visitors from across the island.
The Mayor of Inca, Virgilio Moreno, and the Councillor for Fairs, María José Fernández, alongside associations, clubs, and local entities, presented the programme at the Son Catiu estate, emphasising the importance of these fairs for the city. “Our city is the heart of Mallorca, both geographically and symbolically. Inca is a place with a strong and recognised identity,” said Mayor Moreno.
More than 200 activities at the Fires d’Inca 2024
The Fires d’Inca 2024 will feature more than 200 activities planned for all audiences, thanks to the collaboration of various associations and local groups. Councillor Fernández highlighted that the goal is to offer a varied and accessible programme, with events that encourage citizen participation and provide entertainment for all ages and interests.
Fira de la Terra: 19 and 20 October
The first weekend, 19 and 20 October, will celebrate the Fira de la Terra, kicking off the festivities. Among the standout events are the Trobada de Cossos d’Emergència Memorial Juan Cifuentes, with demonstrations and drills by the Balearic emergency services, and the Fira de la Ciència, featuring workshops and exhibitions on robotics and environmental education. Additionally, the Mercat de Plantes i Flors will offer a wide variety of plants and flowers, while children can enjoy activities such as games and crafts.
Fira de l’Esport i del Motor: 26 and 27 October
The second weekend, 26 and 27 October, will be dedicated to the Fira de l’Esport i del Motor, focusing on sports and vehicles.
Highlights include the popular Cursa de Carretons, returning after last year’s success, and the spectacular Fira del Motor, with exhibitions for motor enthusiasts. Additionally, the Leatherfest Rock Festival will combine live music and classic car displays, while the Tast de Ball will offer dance performances and sports activities.
Fira d’Època: 1, 2 and 3 November
The cycle of fairs will culminate on the weekend of 1 to 3 November with the Fira d’Època, where Inca will travel back in time with its Mercat Medieval, ideal for lovers of historical gastronomy and crafts. A major new feature will be the presentation of the equestrian show “Cavallers del Rei Jaume I”, which will transport attendees to the medieval era with re-enactments of knights and horses.
