Llucmajor Town Hall has officially announced the 478th edition of the Fires de Llucmajor, one of the oldest and most significant celebrations in Mallorca. This year, the Fires will take place from September 29, the day of Sant Miquel, until October 14, offering a diverse program of activities for all ages in various locations throughout the municipality.

Fires de Llucmajor 2024: Cultural Tradition

During the press conference, the mayor of Llucmajor, Xisca Lascolas, emphasized the importance of this event for the local community and for the entire island: “The Fires de Llucmajor are a tradition that is part of our cultural identity. With this edition, we aim to strengthen the ties with our residents and visitors by offering a diverse and quality program. Thanks to the joint efforts of all areas of the Ajuntament, we have prepared an event that keeps our tradition alive and promises to be a resounding success.”

Featured Activities

Among the scheduled activities are multiple cultural, sports, and gastronomic events that establish the Fires as one of the main highlights of the festive calendar in Mallorca. This year’s novelties include two themed fairs: one dedicated to the geek world and another to handicrafts and opportunities. These fairs will be held at the Passeig de Jaume III on the weekend of October 5 and 6.

Increased Attendance with a Program for All Ages

The councillor for Fires, Marga Planas, highlighted the growing popularity of the Fires: “We expect to surpass last year’s attendance, especially from visitors from the Part Forana of Mallorca. This year, we have designed the Fires so that people of all ages, from the youngest to the oldest, can find enjoyable activities.”
Xisca Lascolas also emphasized the inclusive nature of the Fires de Llucmajor, noting the collaboration of all areas of the Ajuntament to ensure the event’s success: “It’s a collective effort from the entire municipal team throughout the year, where each department has contributed to make the Fires reflect what Llucmajor represents: tradition, community, and hospitality.”

The 478th edition of the Fires de Llucmajor promises to be an unforgettable celebration, reaffirming the municipality’s commitment to its heritage and community.
