As every year, Porreres becomes the epicenter of one of the most anticipated celebrations on the island: the Fira de l’Albercoc (Apricot Fair) 2024. This festivity, held this year on June 15, not only honors one of the region’s most emblematic fruits but also highlights the cultural richness and agricultural tradition of Porreres.

The Fira de l’Albercoc 2024 offers a wide range of activities for all ages. From tastings of apricot-derived products such as jams, liqueurs, and desserts, to cooking workshops, the popular apricot cutting contest, children’s games, and traditional dances.

Undoubtedly, the most anticipated moment is the farmers’ market, where local producers sell their fresh apricots, as well as other artisan products. This market is a unique opportunity for visitors to buy directly from the farmers and learn more about the cultivation process.

Fira de l’Albercoc 2024 Programme

11:00 am to 12:30 pm:

  • Archaeological pottery workshop by Raquel Barceló. Recommended for ages 5 and up. Free until capacity is reached.

5:30 pm to 10:00 pm:

  • Fira de l’Albercoc. A day where you can find a variety of apricot producers, among other products related to this fruit.

5:30 pm and 6:00 pm:

  • Apricot cutting contest
    • Location: Avinguda Bisbe Campins

6:00 pm:

  • Apricot cake sales stand.
  • Mask and face painting workshop.
    • Organized by: AMPA Col·legi Verge de Monti-sion
  • Showcooking with Miquel Calent. This culinary event involves preparing apricot dishes in front of the attendees, ending with a tasting for all participants. Tickets for the tasting can be purchased the same day until 5:30 pm at the Town Hall (maximum 200 tickets).

  • Itinerant space with various environments themed around healthy eating (apricot):

  • Spring seafood fritter dinner. Price: 16€/person

  • End of course dinner. After the dinner, there will be a performance by the Porreres DJ, Polichy. The price of the dinner is 20 € for members and 25 € for non-members.

In celebration of the Fira de l’Albercoc, the Ajuntament de Porreres has also organized the Mes de l’Albercoc 2024, featuring numerous activities from June 10 to June 29, and a wide range of culinary offerings, always with apricots as the main focus. Check the program here.
