The Festival of Manga and Anime in Catalan (FeMA) celebrates its fourth edition in 2026 with a programme running from 20 March to 12 April across the Balearic Islands. In Mallorca, the main day of activities will take place on Saturday 28 March in Palma, with a full programme centred on manga, anime and Japanese culture.
Organised by the Institut d’Estudis Baleàrics (IEB), FeMA aims to promote the use of the Catalan language among children and young people through two of the most popular expressions of Japanese culture: anime cinema and manga comics.
A programme with activities for all audiences
FeMA 2026 will offer a varied programme across the Balearic Islands, with proposals aimed especially at younger audiences. Highlights include introductory manga and Japanese calligraphy workshops, talks with experts on anime and manga in Catalan, concerts, karaoke, Japanese cooking demonstrations, cosplay contests and anime film screenings.
The main activities will take place on 21 March in Menorca and Formentera and on 28 March in Mallorca and Ibiza, with events held throughout the archipelago.
