This September marks 794 years since the Catalan troops of King Jaume I disembarked in Santa Ponça. This is the historical fact commemorated by the Festes del Rei en Jaume 2023 of this coastal town of Calvià, which will last until September 10th

Sunday, September 3rd

  • Delivery of banners and presentation of the kings of the festival. Theatrical and musical show in which will participate representatives of all the colles of the Festes del Rei En Jaume 2023, the Banda Municipal de Música de Calvià, the Gegants and the Cavallers de Calvià. Show written and directed by Bartomeu Ignasi Oliver i Vidal. Place: Plaça de la Pinada de Santa Ponça, 20 h.
  • Concert: Cíl-lia. Traditional melodies and songs to vindicate folklore as a form of identity. A look at the past attentive to future generations. Plaça de la Pinada de Santa Ponça, 21.30 h.

Tuesday 5 of september

  • Nit de foc with the dimonis de la Factoria de So. Fireworks show that will turn the promenade into a meeting of demons and mythological and extraordinary beings. Santa Ponça beach promenade (Balneari street), 22 h.

Wednesday 6th September

  • Cultural Route. Theatrical route that recalls the most transcendental act of the history of Mallorca in three natural settings: the Cross of Santa Ponça, the puig of sa Morisca and the hermitage of the Pedra Sagrada. Pre-registration at cultura@calvia.com or 971 139 181. Starting place: Creu de Santa Ponça, 7 pm.

Thursday 7th September

  • Medieval market. Santa Ponça beach promenade (Balneari street and Rei Jaume I Av.), from 12 to 1 h.
  • Night of humor. El Casta, a classic for a night dedicated to laughter. Plaça de la Pinada de Santa Ponça, 22 h.

Friday September 8th

  • Medieval market. Santa Ponça beach promenade (Balneari street and Rei Jaume I Av.), from 12 to 1 h.
  • Moorish parade. The parade starts with the Ball dels escamots. The route is Av. Rei Jaume I, Gran via Puig de Galatzó to the traffic circle and back to the Tourist Office. Start at Plaça de la Pinada de Santa Ponça, 20 h.

Saturday, September 9th

  • Moors and Christians parade. Start: 18 h. Route: Creu de Santa Ponça, battle in the caló d’en Pellisser, Av. Rei Jau- me I and Gran Via Puig de Galatzó.
  • Final Battle. The Ball dels Escamots will start the negotiations of the two kings; which will end encouraging their troops to start the big battle and the final fight between the two of them. Platja de Santa Ponça. Trophy ceremony Regata Rei en Jaume. Port Adriano, 21 h.

Sunday 10th September

  • Fireworks. Fireworks show that ends the Festes del Rei en Jaume I. Platja de Santa Ponça, 22.30 h.
