This Wednesday, 9 November, the streaming platform Netflix has released the fifth season of the series “The Crown”. The ten chapters that make up the season can now be seen from 9:00, peninsular time. In the new instalment, Mallorca is one of the protagonists, having served as a film set for part of the plot, which tells the story of the British Royal Family from 1991 to 1997.
The new episodes focus on the breakdown of the marriage between Princess Diana (played by Elizabeth Debicki) and Prince Charles (Dominic West). The actors filmed some of the scenes of the series over several days in locations on the island such as Andratx and Sant Elm in the summer of 2021.
The sixth season, also filmed partly in Mallorca, will probably be the last of the series and we will still have to wait at least a year to see it.
