The Palau Municipal d’Esports de Son Moix joins the Spanish Association Against Cancer’s ‘Smoke-Free Spaces’ prevention campaign
The sports facilities of the Palau Municipal d’Esports are now displaying the informative elements that remind people that smoking is now also prohibited in the outdoor areas of the complex. The aim is to raise awareness and disseminate the initiative of the Spanish Association Against Cancer in a sports area where sport, health and wellbeing coexist and which will have a positive impact on the centre’s users.
The Palau Municipal d’Esports de Son Moix will be the first of the municipal sports facilities to join the prevention project of the Spanish Association Against Cancer #RespiroLibre. Progressively, the rest of the facilities managed by the Institut Municipal d’Esport (IME) will join in: the Son Hugo swimming pools, the Germans Escales sports centre and swimming pools, s’Estel, Rudy Fernández, Marga Crespí, Son Roca, Xavi Torres, Toni Servera and the rest of the municipal pavilions and football pitches.
This new adhesion of the Palma City Council to the prevention campaign is in addition to the initiative of the EMT Palma which, last November, signposted the 227 bus shelters as ‘Smoke-Free Spaces’.
