The director of the Barnasants Illes Balears, Pere Camps, has presented in the Porreres Auditorium the fourth edition of this network culture project of the author’s song. This edition of the contest will start on March 18 at the Porreres Auditorium, with the iconic voice of the Catalan singer-songwriter Marina Rossell, who will present her latest album and her homonymous show, ‘300 cries’.

The singer-songwriter from Penedès will also present this album within the framework of Barnasants in Ibiza (April 10, Can Ventosa Auditorium) and at the Teatro del Born in Ciutadella de Menorca (June 4). Rossell is one of the voices chosen in this edition of the Barnasants Illes Balears, which over almost 5 months will offer forty concerts on the Islands.

Three own productions: Brams, Sílvia Comes and Marcel Pich

One of the highlights will be the three own productions that Barnasants will present in Mallorca. The first will be on April 9 in Manacor, with the legendary rock and ska group from the Principality of Catalonia, Brams, who will offer the concert Baula after baula, in the Auditori. The show is designed for auditoriums and theaters.

The Catalan poet, painter and translator, Felícia Fuster, will also be honored at the fourth edition of the Barnasants Illes Balears. Still within the Felícia Fuster commemorative year, on the occasion of the centenary of her birth, Sílvia Comes will present a show with poems set to music. The premiere will be on April 24 at the Manacor Conservatory.

The third own production will be in charge of Marcel Pich, who will present the vinyl record that will be published this spring of the concert that the man from Manacor did in Alghero last July in homage to the singer-songwriter from Manacor Guillem d’Efak. The recital will be on June 19 in the Cloister of Manacor.

Twenty premieres and album presentations

In addition to Marina Rossell, Brams, Sílvia Comes and Marcel Pich, there will be up to twenty artists who will present new works in the Balearic Islands, including Roger Mas from Solson, who will present his latest album “Todas las flores” in Palma on April 21 at the Xesc Forteza Auditorium. In addition, the Mallorcan Maria Jaume will present her second album “Voltes i voltes” on May 21 at the Porreres Auditorium.

Oliva Trencada, also from the island, will premiere a book-disc entitled “Sky of the Afternoon”, with the collaboration of artists such as Cecília Giménez (The Clueless Fairy), Lluís Cabot (Da Souza), Joana Gomila (Folk Souvenir), Joan Miquel Oliver (Antònia Fuente) , Carme Vives (Queen), Roger Pistola (Gun), Miquel Serra, Jorra Santiago (Jorra and Gomorra), Jaume Negre (Negrei3colors), Sofia Massutí (Scorpio) or Xisco Vargas (NeitWeight).

One of the most special concerts will be at the Teatre des Born in Menorca on March 4, where Maria del Mar Bonet will premiere her new show in tribute to Father Ginard. In addition, Paco Ibáñez, Martirio and the Galician Sés will also make their premiere stop at the Barnasants Illes Balears. Ibáñez, will be in charge of closing the Barnasants in Mallorca, on July 9 at the Teatro Principal de Palma, with the premiere of the recital ¡Nos puede la voz!

The program is completed with names like Imarantia, Meritxell Gené, Ivette Nadal & Caïm Riba, the Menorcan Leonmanso, Andreu Valor, or Caïm Riba. Glòria Julià & Víctor Leiva will present their new show ‘Versar la piel’ on March 18 in Eivissa.
