Sunday, 26th January, will see Palma conclude the Sant Sebastià 2025 celebrations with the much-anticipated Correfoc. This event promises to ignite the city and thrill attendees with a spectacular mix of fire, gunpowder, and tradition.
From 7:00 PM, more than 300 demons from 11 colles (groups) will take to the streets of Palma, accompanied by the iconic fire beasts and the thunderous rhythm of drums. The spectacle will feature over 7,000 pyrotechnic devices and a deployment of 161 kilograms of gunpowder, transforming the night into a dazzling explosion of light, colour, and rhythm.
Three simultaneous starting points for the Correfoc
The Correfoc will kick off from three different locations in the city, each offering its own unique spectacle:
- Plaça de la Reina: Here, the fire beasts, including the famous Drac de Na Coca, will be ignited, marking the start of the event.
- Pont de la Riera: The colles Enfocats, Illa Galera, and Trabukats will march accompanied by the vibrant rhythm of batucadas (drumming ensembles).
- Jaume III and Bonaire: From this point, the colles Encabritats, Es Cau des Boc Negre, Kinfumfà, and Incubus will bring their fire and energy to Plaça Joan Carles I, where the celebration will reach its climax.
Tradition and spectacle to bid farewell to Sant Sebastià
The Correfoc has become one of the most eagerly anticipated moments of the Sant Sebastià festivities, offering a unique experience that combines tradition, music, and a stunning visual display. This year, with record participation and meticulous planning, it promises to be an unforgettable night for locals and visitors alike.
The Sant Sebastià celebrations, which culminate this weekend with events such as the Trobada de Gegants on Saturday, 25th January, and the Volada d’Estels on Sunday, 26th January, will find their most vibrant moment in the Correfoc, providing a spectacular finale to days filled with culture and festivity.
