The Diumenge de l’Àngel 2026 returns to Palma on Sunday 12 April and is once again firmly established as one of the city’s most deeply rooted popular celebrations.

Thousands of people will gather around the Castell de Bellver to take part in a day that combines nature, popular culture and community spirit. Organised by the Federació d’Associacions de Veïns de Palma, the event highlights neighbourhood life and the revival of traditions linked to the end of the Holy Week period.

What is Diumenge de l’Àngel

Revived in 1982, Diumenge de l’Àngel is a celebration deeply linked to Palma. The day centres on the traditional walk up to the Castell de Bellver, where residents and visitors share an open-air day in a festive and family-friendly atmosphere.

Beyond its festive character, it is a community gathering that underlines collective identity and the role of neighbourhood associations in the city’s social and cultural life.

A day of activities for all ages

The programme retains the essence of the celebration, with activities designed for all ages. Throughout the day there will be traditional music by xeremiers, a parade of gegants and capgrossos, traditional dancing, children’s activities and cultural displays.

In addition, food stalls will be set up on the esplanade of the castle, offering traditional Easter products such as panades and robiols.

How to get to Castell de Bellver

To make access easier and reduce the impact on the natural surroundings, a special public transport service will be provided:

– From 10:30 am to 5:00 pm: free bus service to go up to the Castell, with departures approximately every 10 minutes from Camilo José Cela street.

It is also common to walk up, an option that forms part of the tradition of the day and allows visitors to enjoy the Bellver forest at one of the most pleasant times of the spring.
