Sunday 27 April will see Castell de Bellver once again become the setting for one of Palma’s most cherished festivities: Diumenge de l’Àngel 2025. From 10:30 am to 5:00 pm, visitors can enjoy a wide range of activities for all ages in a festive day that combines history, tradition and community involvement.

One of the most anticipated moments of the day will be the traditional ascent to the castle starting at 11:00 am, along with the moving Àngel procession at 1:30 pm, two essential highlights that draw hundreds of people every year and commemorate a tradition that dates back more than 600 years. Organised by the Federació d’Associacions de Veïns de Palma with the collaboration of the City Council, this celebration was revived in 1981 and honours the Feast of the Guardian Angel, former patron saint of the city, held on the first Sunday after Easter.
Casteller gathering, historical monologues and more at Diumenge de l’Àngel 2025
One of the main events of the programme will be the Casteller gathering, taking place at 3:30 pm featuring the Castellers de Mallorca, the Al·lots de Llevant casteller group (Manacor), and the university team Gambirots from the UIB.
Throughout the day, there will also be historical monologues inspired by characters from the castle, a re-enactment of the historical assault by Milites Maioricarum, musical performances including the Son Dameto Choir, a K-POP show by K-Rapinya, and traditional dances by the Escola de Ball de Bunyola.
For the little ones, a children’s area will be set up in the castle car park, offering workshops, games, the Traffic Park by Palma Local Police, activities by the EMT, and a ‘tir de fona’ slingshot zone. The Mounted Police stables will also be open for guided visits from 10:30 am to 1:30 pm.
