The Mercat de les Illes Balears will once again be one of the main hubs of activity in Palma, with a total of 175 stalls run by artisans and vendors. The Parc de la Mar will host the institutional exhibition of the Govern de les Illes Balears, a covered space bringing together 33 stands and one marquee. In this venue, the Govern’s ministries will organise activities from 27 February to 2 March, from 10:00 to 20:00. The exhibition will offer children’s, participatory, gastronomic and cultural proposals, with the aim of highlighting the cultural and social richness of the Balearic Islands within the Dia de les Illes Balears 2026 programme.

The Fira de la Pesca i el Peix Local will take place for the second consecutive year, with activities on carrer del Consolat and plaça de les Drassanes. The initiative, promoted by the Conselleria d’Agricultura, Pesca i Medi Natural together with the main bodies in the sector, is conceived as a showcase for the archipelago’s professional fishing industry. The space will include information stands dedicated to traditional fishing methods, sustainable fishing practices and quality labels for locally caught fish in Mallorca. The fair will be open from 27 February to 2 March, from 10:00 to 20:00.

The Parc de Sa Feixina will host the Mostra de Cuina de les Illes Balears, as well as the Fira de les Cases Regionals and the Mostra de Furgoteques, from 27 February to 2 March, from 10:00 to 23:30.

Anniversary of the Estatut d’Autonomia

The Dia de les Illes Balears is commemorated every 1 March and marks the anniversary of the entry into force of the Estatut d’Autonomia. The date symbolises the constitution of Mallorca, Menorca, Eivissa and Formentera as an autonomous community, as well as the recognition of their self-government. The day represents an institutional and social celebration that puts the focus on the archipelago’s collective identity, its history, its culture and its traditions.

The Diada has also consolidated its role as an occasion to highlight the values that define the Balearic Islands: the bond with the Mediterranean, the richness of their heritage, the importance of tradition and the dynamic character of a society that combines roots, innovation and cultural diversity.
