The operation began at around 09:00 hours this morning and involved various municipal departments, such as Urbanism and the Local Police, as well as several teams from the National Police. On this occasion, the demolition included a large tent and several sheds built from different materials: one prefabricated, one made of concrete blocks measuring approximately five square metres, one metallic, and one wooden about 40 square metres. Several abandoned vehicles were also removed, including a lorry and two excavators.
Immediate response
The Mayor of Palma, Jaime Martínez Llabrés, emphasised the immediate response from the council to these illegal constructions, highlighting that the municipal government “will continue to act against any illegality”. Martínez Llabrés also reiterated his commitment to being “inflexible in the face of any illegality and acting whenever necessary”, ensuring that the proliferation of unauthorised constructions in the area will not be tolerated.
