The Mallorca 2022 Cycling Challenge starts on January 26 after its official presentation at the Consolat de Mar in Palma. An edition that returns to its original dates and that this 2022 will include five trophies. The 31st edition of this race kicks off the professional European cycling season and 25 teams and more than 300 riders will take part in it.

Route of the Cycling Challenge 2022

The route of the Challenge Ciclista Mallorca 2022 will have some novelties: the Calvià Trophy (Peguera-Palmanova) will open the competition on Wednesday 26 with a route of 154.7 kilometers. On Thursday the 27th it will be the turn of the Port d’Alcúdia Trophy with 173, 2 kilometers of route. On Friday 28, Serra de Tramuntana Trophy, Lloseta with a total of 158.9 kilometres. A day that will have the mountain as the main protagonist. The weekend will begin with the Pollença Port d’Andratx Trophy, which will cover 170.1 kilometers on Saturday 29. Finally, on Sunday 30 the Mallorca 2022 Cycling Challenge will close with the Platja de Palma-Palma Trophy, which returns again to route. An itinerary of 169.1 kilometers, where it is expected that its final part will be disputed with a sprint on arrival.

Runners, teams and organization will stay these days at the Hotel Garden Hotels-Luxcom, which will become the logistics center of the competition. During the presentation ceremony, the president highlighted that “sport is linked to the tourism that we want and to many of the values ​​that we pursue as a society. Such as effort, the spirit of self-improvement, teamwork or sustainability and respect for the territory and the landscape. In addition, she declared that with the Mallorca 2022 Cycling Challenge “we show the world the best we have.”

This event has the support of the Balearic Islands Tourism Strategy Agency (AETIB) and will be broadcast in 54 countries around the world.
