Sóller Tunnel Closure Times

The closure will affect traffic from Monday to Thursday, between 22:00 and 06:00. During this period, only emergency vehicles and public transport will be allowed through the tunnel, mainly TIB buses.

Investment and Planned Improvements

The works have a budget of €600,000 and aim to enhance the safety of the infrastructure. The main improvements include:

  • Installation and renewal of more than 3 kilometres of fibre optic cable and wiring.

  • Replacement of obsolete surveillance cameras.

  • Improvement of the accident detection system.

  • Cleaning and inspection of drainage systems.

  • Checking of fire safety and ventilation systems.

These interventions will modernise internal communications and optimise emergency response within the tunnel.

Impact on the Sa Mola Tunnel

At the same time, night-time maintenance work will also be carried out in the Sa Mola Tunnel, located on the road descending towards the port of Sóller.
