Christmas in Mallorca 2022 is marked by the traditions of this period. A very special time to enjoy the magic that is so characteristic of this time of year.

A visit to the nativity scenes is one of the most popular and traditional events of the festive season. In Palma you can visit the Fundació Bartolomé March Nativity Scene, the Misericordia Nativity Scene, Cort, the Consell de Mallorca Nativity Scene and the Fundació Sa Nostra Nativity Scene, among others.

The street markets are a good option when it comes to buying Christmas presents. In Palma, a total of 194 stalls will remain open until the 6th of January 2023 from 10:00 to 21:00 in Plaza de España, Mayor, de la Puerta Pintada, la Rambla and Vía Roma.

For their part, the little ones have until the 4th of January to deposit their letters to the Three Wise Men in the Royal Mail installed in the lobby of Cort.

Christmas in Mallorca 2022 – 2023: Calendar of events

  • The Christmas Market in Puerto Portals turns on its lights from the 15th of December to the 7th of January with more than forty wooden stalls decorated with garlands of lights and fir trees.
  • Anthony Blake presents his show “Yes! It makes sense” on the 16th of December at the Palma Auditorium at 8:00 pm. In a few years we will move on from sending messages to purely mental transmission, and it is all a product of your imagination…
  • The Christmas concert by the UIB choirs in the Palma Auditorium offers a story of melodies full of memories, reflections, joy and illusion. 18th December at 12:30 pm.
  • Christmas Concert by the Teatre Principal Choirs, on 22nd December. The Sala Gran hosts a stage show where choral music and carols will be the protagonists. At 20:00 in the Teatre Principal.
  • Max Teatro Musical presents Rapunzel, el musical, a family show at the Teatre Sa Teulera in Andratx. On the 23rd of December, from 18:00.
  • The Christmas agenda in Mallorca continues on the 23rd with the JazzaCalvià Big band. Presents: Jazz’ Nadal! at 20:00. Free admission, bookings at Jazzacalvia@gmail.com or cultura@calvia.com.
  • Also on the 23rd, concert by Pedro Borràs, with songs by Bob Marley, Jarabe de Palo, Queen, Los Ronaldos, etc. At 20:00 in the Auditòrium sa Màniga in Cala Millor. Tickets, 2 euros.

Christmas in Mallorca 2022: traditions

  • The churches of Mallorca welcome the angelic voice of the sibyl on the 24th of December. Dressed in a wide, brightly coloured cloak, a veil and a sword, this character announces the end of the world and the birth of Jesus.
  • Agustín ‘El Casta’ returns to the Auditorium of Palma de Mallorca with his Christmas 2022 special. A classic on Mallorca’s Christmas calendar that will offer daily performances from the 25th of December until the 1st of January.
  • On the 26th of December the FNG San Silvestre de Palma, a classic Christmas event in Mallorca, returns. Starting and finishing line at the Castell de Bellver car park at 11:00. The route is on a track and there will be two distances: 10 km (two laps of the course) and 5 km.
  • Theatre show Sofa, wig and panades. Last comedy of Diabéticas Aceleradas. At the Teatre Principal of Inca at 19:00 on 26th December.
  • The Gran Cassanyes and Marie de la Mer, a visual magic show that combines several disciplines of the performing arts to offer a complete stage experience, comes to Inca’s Teatre Principal on 27th December, 19:00.
  • Sant Llorenç des Cardassar is hosting an Escape City on the 28th. It will be held at 16:00 for boys and girls from 6th grade onwards. At the end, there will be a hot chocolate with ensaimadas for the participants.
  • On the 30th, the Harp and Guitar Duo will present a programme that seeks to reflect the richness of Latin American and European cultures through these two universal instruments. At CaixaForum Palma, at 19:00.
  • The play “Zona inundable”, by Marta Barceló, comes to the Auditòrium sa Màniga in Cala Millor. A show based on the floods of Sant Llorenç, at 20:00.
  • The Festa de l’Estendard kicks off on the 30th of December at 19:30 in the church of Sant Miquel, with a floral offering in Plaza de España at 20:00. On the 31st at 10:15 am there will be the placing of the Estandard Reial de la Conquista de Mallorca (Royal Standard of the Conquest of Mallorca) in Plaza de Cort, followed by mass in La Seu and at 12:00 pm, a performance of La Colcada.
  • The last night of the year brings 2022 to a close with the 12 bells on the 31st of December. On this night, everyone chooses how long to extend the most classic Christmas celebration in Mallorca.
  • In Alcúdia, the Festa de la Nit de cap d’Any (New Year’s Eve Festival) will start at 23:45 with the chimes at the Porta des Moll. Afterwards there will be a party with the Val 9 group and music with DJ Tommy.

Christmas continues in January…

  • On the 2nd of January, the Christmas in Mallorca 2022 agenda continues with the Grand New Year’s Concert by the Strauss Festival Orchestra. The extraordinary tour that has conquered the whole of Europe comes to the stage of Palma Auditorium. Starting at 21:00.
  • The animated film Petzi i la mar salada (Petzi and the Salty Sea) will be screened on the 4th at the Teatre de Manacor from 18:00. Accessible for people with reduced mobility.
  • The Three Wise Men from the East arrive in Mallorca laden with gifts on the 5th of January. The route of Their Majesties of the Orient in Palma departs from the Moll Vell from 18:00 onwards along Avenida de Antoni Maura, Paseo del Borne, Plaza del Rey Juan Carlos I, Calle de la Unión, La Rambla, Calle Barón de Pinopar, Avenida de Alemania, Via Roma, Calle del Obispo Campins, Calle de Rubén Darío, Paseo de Mallorca, Avenida de Jaime III, Plaza del Rey Juan Carlos I.
  • The Adoració dels Tres Reis d’Orient reaches its 38th edition on Friday the 6th of January at 11:30 am in Ses Voltes.
  • On the same day, Ara Malikian presents his new world tour “The Ara Malikian World Tour” on the Trui Teatre stage in two different sessions: Friday the 6th of January at 21:00 and Saturday the 7th at 12:00.
