Casal Solleric closed the year 2025 with a historic total of 100,852 visitors, a figure that practically quadruples the attendance recorded in 2022 and confirms the consolidation of the centre as one of the leading cultural landmarks of the city and the Balearic Islands.

The figures represent very significant growth compared to previous years. In comparison with 2023, when 49,217 visitors were recorded, attendance has doubled, while compared to 2024, the year in which Casal Solleric welcomed 67,485 people, the increase has also been notable. This positive trend forms part of a sustained and coherent cultural strategy promoted by the Ajuntament de Palma.

High-quality programming and international projection

The First Deputy Mayor and Councillor for Culture, Javier Bonet, has given a very positive assessment of these results and has stressed that the success of Casal Solleric is due to “the commitment to quality in cultural policies, with attention both to artists linked to the local context and to creators of leading national and international standing”.

During the current term of office, the exhibition space on Passeig del Born has hosted exhibitions by internationally renowned figures such as Tony Oursler, Peter Halley, Julian Opie, Quino and Jesús Soto. These are joined by exhibitions featuring National Prize winners such as Luis Gordillo, Concha Jerez and Ángela de la Cruz, as well as forthcoming exhibitions by Eva Lootz and Joan Fontcuberta.

Casal Solleric has also strengthened its commitment to locally linked talent, with exhibitions by artists such as Bernardí Roig, Tomeu Ventayol, Ela Fidalgo, Lucía Gorostegui, Marcelo Viquez, Joana Cera and Robert Ferrer, in addition to the milestone represented by the first exhibition dedicated to La jove plàstica a Mallorca.

Institutional collaboration and major cultural partnerships

Another key factor behind the growth in visitor numbers has been ongoing collaboration with the cultural sector, both public and private. In this area, Casal Solleric maintains close cooperation with major museum institutions such as the Museo Reina Sofía, the Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza, the IVAM and the MACBA.

The centre has also taken part in the Paysage Miró project, an initiative aimed at strengthening the international projection of Joan Miró and his deep connection with Palma and the Balearic Islands.

Palma and the 2031 horizon

The upward trajectory of Casal Solleric comes at a strategic moment for Palma, which aspires to realise its bid for European Capital of Culture 2031. In this context, growing public interest and the consolidation of an exhibition programme of excellence reinforce the city’s positioning as a leading cultural destination in the Mediterranean and across Europe.
