A renewed perspective that places Mallorca on a more conscious, humane, and shared path
Responsible tourism that cares for the landscape, respects local rhythms, and enhances the well-being of Mallorca’s inhabitants is now a widely shared aspiration. The Responsible Tourism Foundation of Mallorca (FTRM) of the Consell de Mallorca is moving forward in its evolution towards the Ca Nostra brand (“our home” in Catalan), which clearly outlines the path forward: a future for tourism based on shared responsibility and a more humane, social and balanced vision for the island.
Ca Nostra perceives Mallorca as a shared space, a territory sustained by the daily lives of those who inhabit and care for it. Its identity highlights the uniqueness of its landscapes, the harmony of its rhythms, and the cohesion of a community that keeps the essence of the island alive.
Responsible tourism is the only type of tourism capable of generating real quality of life in Mallorca. Its approach integrates economic diversification, protection of cultural heritage, and social stability as essential elements of balanced development. Under this vision, tourism activity makes sense when it contributes to strengthening opportunities for the natural environment without compromising its future.
Ca Nostra embodies this approach in the Mallorca Pledge, a commitment that translates the project’s purpose into everyday actions. The Pledge brings together principles that promote respect for the environment, attention to local life, and support for those who sustain the island’s daily activity. Its value lies in turning simple gestures into a shared practice that strengthens collective care.
The community must take the lead in this transformation, which is why the FTRM promotes collaboration processes with local institutions and agents so that citizens can actively participate in defining the tourism model. In this context, pride in belonging becomes a shared commitment and a valuable tool for preserving Mallorca’s intangible heritage.
All in all, the organization envisions a future where sustainability, identity, and well-being move forward in the same direction. Ca Nostra is consolidating its role as the driving force behind this transition, building a vision that allows Mallorca to develop without losing its essence, without ceasing to be ca nostra.
