Port Adriano opens the summer season on Friday and does so with one of its flagship events, the AfterSun Festival, which celebrates its sixth edition.

This event, in continuous evolution and growth, has several new features this year: the first is that all containers are masterfully intervened by 20 urban artists who participated in an open call and were selected by a jury of art experts. On the other hand, street food caravans are being incorporated, increasing the offer with food caravans and a restaurant area.

The official opening will be this Friday, June 3 at 6:00 pm, and will feature live music by Christina Jones with Sara de Blas, courtesy of I am Music Lover, as well as tastings of Sangría Rita Mediterránea, on a terrace set up for the occasion.

There will also be a guided tour among the selected works and the presence of Suso 33, a nationally renowned artist who has collaborated with this initiative and has his own mural inside AfterSun.

AfterSun is a market with fashion, beauty and decoration proposals, mostly from the Balearic Islands and local commerce, and with a strong commitment to sustainability, as many participating brands have in their concept the environmental component.

In this sense, the Cleanwave Foundation has a container where there will be information about their work as well as children’s activities on Saturdays. The Ajuntament de Calvià also has its own container to inform about Calviá and to do workshops for children.

The participating stores will be open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays in June, from 18:00h to 22:00h until June 19 and are:

Nilay, Degüayhaus interior Design, Las Panchas, Mica Joyería de autor, Lu.Les, Music Lover, Pomelo Ceramic Art, Mexiterranea Folk Art, La Insular, Joies by Lieke, Ancora Mediterranean Fashion, PipaLöök, Lar, Desanuda Fiber Lab, Esouef, Luciana Roman arte, Anuré Lamps, Cleanwave, Ajuntament de Calvià, Lo y So kids, Recoleta 3 Nomad and Seassence.

The Food Trucks Wanderlust, Anita Cakes Infineatruck and Cosmopolita will serve a varied offer of food so that the sunset does not catch us with an empty stomach.

Urban Art

This is the third time that urban artists have decorated the maritime containers, so that the port has an open-air exhibition 24 hours a day. On this occasion, there have been artists who have come from all over Spain to make their interventions in Calvià, whose City Council has actively collaborated with the call. We remind that an open competition was held to choose the artists and more than 40 proposals were received. The selected artists are:

Marcos Pérez, Sota Pérez, Pablo Pelluz, Drili, Oriol Angrill, Carolina Adán, Grasi, Luis Curti, Belén Pez, Set de belleza, Martz, Gràcia Ribalaiga, Mina Ivy, ASCO, Juan Ramón Alomar, Verni, Trossort, Teresa Ponseti/Victoria Román, Federica Furbelli and we have as guest artist a national reference in urban art: Suso33.

The distribution of the containers is conceived to take a walk among the murals intervened under a spectacular decoration.
