Airlines have scheduled a total of 7.3 million seats at Palma Airport for this winter season, which represents a 5.4% increase compared to the previous winter. In addition, 14 new routes have been added, consolidating the airport’s position as one of the main connection hubs in Spain.
This growth is part of a general increase in seat availability across Aena airports throughout the country, with a total of 134.2 million seats scheduled, representing a 5.6% increase compared to the same season last year. Regarding commercial operations, airlines have planned nearly 765,000 movements between arrivals and departures, a 4.7% increase.
Among the airports with the highest seat availability are Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas and Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat, followed by Palma de Mallorca, which is on par with Alicante-Elche Miguel Hernández. Both airports will offer the same number of seats during this season, significantly contributing to the increase in both domestic and international connections.
In terms of geographical areas, the European market leads the growth with 6.5% more seats than last year, representing nearly 73 million seats. As for international routes, Palma will have great connectivity, mainly with European destinations. The main countries with increased seat availability are the United Kingdom, Germany, and Italy.
This increase in air connectivity positions Mallorca as a strategic destination for both winter tourism and residents seeking quick and accessible connections with the rest of Europe and beyond.
