The Sóller Train, which has had its rail service stopped since December 9 due to renovation and improvement works on its facilities, will resume its activity next Tuesday, March 1.

It should be remembered that during this period of reforms and improvements, the iron bridge at the Sóller exit has been restored, in addition to improving the most deteriorated areas of the tracks, which will provide considerable progress in terms of safety and less wear on the material. rolling.

During this annual break, there has also been a great deal of activity in the workshops as the company has taken the opportunity to fine-tune all its locomotives and wagons, replacing the parts that are subject to greater wear due to their ordinary operation.

The president of the Sóller Railway, Óscar Mayol, explained that “we are working hard and with great enthusiasm to be able to open on March 1 as normally as possible”. Our goal, he has assured, “is to face a good season, hopefully better than last, strictly complying with all the safety and prevention regulations that we already had imposed”.

In addition, Óscar Mayol added that it is very important for the Sóller Railway to “invigorate the local economy and the labor market, as well as continue to show the other side of Mallorca, the most hidden, the one that the interior of the Serra de Tramontana offers us and the towns in that area, especially Sóller and the port, are our main priorities”.
