The Regional Houses Fair in Palma brings together gastronomy, music, folklore and family activities at Parc de la Mar from this Friday 11 until Sunday 13 September. The event will feature nine regional houses and centres from the Balearic Islands and will be open approximately from 10:00 to 23:30.

Over the three days, the organisations will showcase some of the traditions and culture of their regions of origin through food, dance and music. The programme ranges from ball de bot (traditional Mallorcan dance) and flamenco to batucada, pop-rock and reggae, as well as storytelling and children’s entertainment.

The event is therefore one of the options for things to do in Palma this weekend, with activities for different ages and a wide range of outdoor food options.

Nine regional houses and a tapas fair in Palma

One of the main attractions will be the tapas fair in Palma, where each organisation will prepare traditional tapas and dishes from its region. Visitors will be able to discover different recipes and flavours while learning about the customs of the communities represented.

Participants will include Casa Regional Valenciana en Baleares, Hogar Canario en Baleares, Casa Regional de Murcia en Mallorca, Asociación Amigos Rocieros en Baleares, Artea Euskal Etxea de Mallorca, Casa de Andalucía en Baleares, Casa Regional Madrileña en Baleares, Centro Gallego de Mallorca and Falla El Toro-Casa de Valencia en Calvià.

In addition to the food, there will be performances throughout the three days. Saturday will feature the largest number of activities in Palma this weekend, with traditional dancing, flamenco, music and children’s storytelling.
