Bicipalma

The expansion of Bicipalma will extend the public bicycle service to the Passeig Marítim and the Platja de Palma. The Municipal Parking and Projects Company (SMAP) has awarded the supply contract to carry out the Phase IV expansion of the network, a project that will add 18 new stations and 230 electric bicycles.

The measure was approved during the SMAP Board of Directors meeting and will involve an investment of €950,000. The contract also includes the supply of the docking infrastructure required to launch this new phase of the Bicipalma expansion within a period of six months.

With this initiative, Bicipalma will strengthen the public cycling connection along Palma’s entire seafront, improving system coverage while advancing the electrification of the municipal fleet. The expansion of Bicipalma is also part of the Global Action Plan for Platja de Palma, which places sustainable mobility among its main strategic priorities.

Software update

In addition, the Board of Directors has approved the awarding of the contract for the update and maintenance of the software licences for all current and future Bicipalma stations over a period of four years.

This investment will improve the overall management of the service through operational, maintenance and bicycle redistribution tools, as well as incident management systems and the user application.
