The Palma International Boat Show 2026 closed its 42nd edition this weekend with a total of 32,947 visitors, 9.5% more than the previous year and the highest figure of the last decade, according to the organisers. The event, promoted by the Govern de les Illes Balears and the Balearic Yacht Brokers Association (BYBA), brought together 310 exhibitors and 600 boats, of which 275 were displayed on the water, across the Moll Vell and Marina Port de Mallorca.

The fair once again consolidated its position as one of the Mediterranean’s leading nautical events and strengthened its international profile with an edition marked by innovation and solutions linked to sustainability in boating. The next edition of the show will take place from 28 April to 1 May 2027.
Innovation and sustainability in boating
One of the main focuses of the Palma International Boat Show 2026 was the presence of proposals aimed at reducing the environmental impact of nautical activity. Companies from the sector presented electric engines, hybrid boats, electric jet skis and hydrogen-powered boats, as well as new technologies linked to energy efficiency and innovation in equipment.
The organisers also reinforced their commitment to sailing as a more environmentally friendly alternative. In this respect, Palma hosted this year the largest exhibition of large sailing yachts in Europe. At the same time, the fair included a specific area dedicated to sustainability, where good practices from the sector were shared and work progressed on measuring the event’s carbon footprint with a view to obtaining certification as a sustainable event.
Positive balance for the Palma International Boat Show 2026 and outlook for 2027
The organisers described the edition as “very positive” and highlighted the increasingly professional and specialised profile of visitors, a factor that favours the generation of quality contacts and commercial operations in the short and medium term. In addition, several shipyards and international brands have already shown interest in taking part in the 2027 edition.
The event also attracted significant media interest, with more than 200 accredited journalists from different countries. One of the most emotional moments of the fair was the presentation of the Marcial Sánchez Barcáiztegui Award to businessman Jaume Vaquer, in recognition of his career at the head of the Association of Nautical Companies of the Balearic Islands.
According to the latest economic impact study, the Palma International Boat Show generates around 21 million euros for the Balearic economy.
