IX Cursa PalmaDona 2026: 8 March at Parc de Sa Riera

The Cursa PalmaDona 2026 (PalmaDona Popular Race) will take place on 8 March at the Parc de Sa Riera, to mark International Women’s Day. This ninth edition of the Cursa Popular PalmaDona carries the motto “Visibles en totes les edats” (Visible at every age) and highlights women’s role in sport at every stage of life.

The event, organised by the Institut Municipal de l’Esport (IME), is free to enter and open to all ages and abilities. Mallorcan elite athlete Bel Calero will act as the race patron and will give the official start.

Timetable and route for the IX Cursa Popular PalmaDona 2026

The morning will begin at 11:30 with a group warm-up led by Susana Sans. The race will start at 12:00.

The circuit combines tarmac and dirt. Each lap covers 2.8 kilometres. Participants can complete one or two laps, up to a maximum of 4.6 kilometres. The start and finish will be located at the Parc de Sa Riera. The route will include Carrer Jesús and Avinguda d’Uruguai. After the race there will be a healthy lunch supported by Mercapalma, a water point for refillable bottles, and a designated stretching area.

All participants will receive a medal, regardless of their time.

Registration and public transport

Registration is free and remains open online via elitechip.net until 6 March at 21:00. Organisers have already recorded more than 3,000 registrations and expect to reach 5,000 bib numbers.

Bib numbers and T-shirts will be collected on 7 March at the same Parc de Sa Riera.

Participants can travel free of charge on EMT buses by showing their bib number between 8:00 and 16:00.

V Children’s Race

The V Children’s Race PalmaDona will start at 10:00 on the same 8 March at the Parc de Sa Riera. It is a free, non-competitive event for children aged 4 to 12.

Distances will be 400, 600 and 1,200 metres depending on age. Children up to five years old can take part with an accompanying adult. Registered participants will receive an additional gift thanks to the company RECLAM2012. Sports activities for children will also run throughout the morning.

VIII Fira d’Expositors

On 7 March, the Parc de Sa Riera will host the VIII Fira d’Expositors, from 11:00 to 19:00. Organisations and companies linked to sport, health and wellbeing will present their services and products, with particular focus on women. The programme will also include free sports activities open to everyone. Bib numbers and T-shirts for the Cursa Popular PalmaDona will also be collected that day.
